There was one condition to our re-hook up from my father: Devin had a flight to Disney World with our family but he couldn't go unless we were engaged. Day before flight: still not engaged! So we gave him a hard time and he smiled his smile and got on the plane! So Devin told me he was going to ask my dad for permission on the trip. Little did I know it would take him ALL WEEK to get the courage up to ask him! We kept taking the kids for walks on the beach and finally about 5 hours before we were flying out he did it. Dev said he had a good conversation with my dad and both were beaming after. PHEW! I was beginning to think this kid really wouldn't commit!
So onto how in the world he surprised me when he proposed. How did he do it? It was apparent we were getting married. We had the date and I think I even scheduled the temple so no surprise, right? Wrong.
About 3 hours before I was going to leave for a wedding gown apt in Boise he pulls up to my apartment with his boat and demands we go for a boat ride. The fact that this didn't surprise me says a lot about our courtship and his spontaneity. So in we go. We stop and eat at Smitty's . . . still no surprise. Then he puts his boat in the IF lake and we go for a ride. We stop and land at the island in front of the temple. The moment it hit me that he was acting weird was when we HAD to have his backpack with him. Uh, is he 5 I thought?! Then I think the pictures and video explain the rest:

We were engaged August 26, 2006 on an island! Sorry the video is sideways I can't fix it.

He really out did himself this time! Engagement was 6 weeks long and my mom about killed me when she found out the date!
Engagement:
We were married October 14th 2006 at 10:30 am in the Boise temple. Wedding and honeymoon could have gone more smoothly. Really, I couldn't say one thing went wrong . . . maybe the flowers and I didn't agree but that is pretty small and they were still gorgeous!!
THE END!
Well, of my version of our dating story!! Our stories are completely different! But mine is correct.

Devin, Devin, Devin...:). I love your story and am sure your version is the correct one! (I know mine is in our story :) Curtis has this strange idea that I played hard to get, but really I was just trying to figure out if he was normal--he's not haha). I think it's fun when people write things like this down.
Best part,Dev saying, "She said yes!" Love your story. I loved reading all of those posts.
