So busy and so fun!

I have been in absolute HEAVEN these last few weeks.  I will try to just write down the highlights.  But please (note to self) most importantly, remember how fun and grounding this last week has been.  We accomplished some serious life goals.  I am going backwards on our fun few weeks:
My favorite outlook waiting to tour Dev's new module!  It's amazing what I can get done when Boo has 3 other friends to play with.
We thoroughly enjoyed the incline: a must to anyone that comes!  Can you tell from the picture that we are pretty tired by this point?!
A little of this:

(Corn-hull)
And a lot of that:
(Cooking and eating some seriously good food.  Bad picture but it was hilarious at the moment.)

Gettysburgh . . . was breath taking.  The statistics we listened to were horrific but helped me feel so much more patriotic and grateful for our past history and courageous soldiers on both sides.

Brynlee: "Mom . . . Dad. . .  you are seriously retarded.  I'm looking the other way so people won't think I am with you."
So for those that don't know.  I paid for and attempted to do the Segway tour 6 months pregnant.  I wore a really large shirt and they caught me at the last second.  Needless to say, I was furious that I couldn't go on the tour pregnant.  I finally did it.  I was absolutely horrible for the first 15 minutes then something clicked and I love it!  Capital: after it clicked!
White house: before it clicked!  At about this point, Jamo recked his segway, Braiden got a few female tourists to ask for a picture with him, I was mistake for a cop and was asked what the emergency was (out of everyone I look the least like cop!!!!), Devin decided he was going to go 20 miles an hour the rest of the tour and Dad decided he was going to buy one of these things!
Washington monument

MINT: Who needs a million dollars anyway?

One of my favorite places: Arlington cemetery.  It was really interesting learning about the unknown soldiers, the changing of the guards, the guard's personal lifestyle and the number 21 in everything.
(I am pretty proud of this Arlington picture.  I love the monument in the background.)

Diamonds are a girls' best friend.  I don't know why I HAD to get a picture by some of the biggest diamond in the world AND the crowns.  I think the little girl in me came out!  But they are gorgeous right?!
We did go to the biggest McDonald's I have ever seen in my life!  Over 15 lines and it has it's own ice cream station!  Ingenious!
And of course I went camera happy in the Botanical Gardens for my "future yard."  Yeah right!  I really need to stop the whole green house kick I am on!  I just love ornamental plants though!  Dev, can you please make me these planters?????????!!!!!!
It was scary how green the pool and hot tub was at the hotel.  Brynlee does like being thrown to everyone in the pool but papa!
I was also floored at how much liquid and food 3 teenage boys can down!
Eating a Philly Cheese Steak while watching a Ducky Boat get run over by a barge.  Yes, people died!
Philadelphia was SO HOT AND HUMID, but still very educational and fun!
The sign says don't touch Jamo!  Yes, my brother is trying to bring back the fanny-pack.
After multiple shots, I was the only one that could keep the same face as our human model during a picture.  What do you think?
Brynlee has mastered this scowl perfectly.  You know exactly when you are not wanted in her bubble.

Last but not least here is a list of what we accomplished in 10 days:
-Fly 5 people across the US twice
-Touch the Liberty Bell
-Throw a penny on Benjamin Franklin's grave
-Walk through Liberty Hall where the declaration was signed
-Eat a Philly Cheese Steak in Philly
-Go to the Washington Monument, Museum of Natural History, MINT, Air and Space Museum, Capital Building, National Archives, White House, Holocaust Museum, Botanical Gardens and the Lincoln Museum
-Segway Tour of the Mall at night!
-Ride the Metro in DC like you own it!
-Successfully house swap with someone
-Take enough food for 8 people including 4 lunches and 2 breakfasts on a road trip
-Kelly Shaw becoming president in our card games
-Driving to all 14 historical sites in Gettysburgh, watching the movie and touring the Museum in 6 hours
-Watching the changing of the guards at Arlington Cemetery
-Multiple family pictures (but none were complete without you Tiffany and Tyler!  We sure missed you.)
-Keeping Brynlee quiet, fed, rested, entertained and a having clean bum happily
-Strip District, South Side Fountain and H&M, Incline, Permanti Brothers, Corn-hull, more games, more food, the Point, Touring the Dental School, Schenely Park, Kennywood (2 times!) and more shopping!

They leave tomorrow and it is going to be so sad!

Loved this post. Love the artsy pics of Gettysburgh, the Washington Monument, and the cemetery. Very cool. Funny about the Segway tour at 6 months prego. Glad you could go this time. Ctazy about the duck/Barge accident. People really died? We were going to go on a duck tour in Seattle and decided not to at the last minute. Good thing we didn't. Who knows what would have happened to us.

SO FUN to have your family there for awhile! I'm seriously taking notes on some of the things you did, because they are things we want to do while here on the east coast. So glad Brynlee got to spend some time with her uncles and grandparents! Love you!

It sounds like a wonderful and very busy trip! I grew up out there and never toured a few of those places. It has been Chase's dream to visit those historical sites so I'll have to quiz you on your reccomendations and tips!

okay so since you have not blogged in a while I came back and looked at some of thest pictures again, had a good laugh but when I zoomed in on the swing picture of Brynlee her face is hilarious! She looks scarry, like she is glaring, evil eyes to the max, whomever she is looking at died on the spot hahaha! That is our new home page pic :) Can't wait to see more pics and video after your temple trip!
