Dear Mom and Dad,This week I appreciated you a little more. For the past and present. Specifically, for your needed advice, pep talks and recipes! I'm at a loss of how you did what you did. But I guess, that is just the trick - the nike slogan! I lied that this is only my journal. If this really written like it was JUST my journal I wouldn't have any friends or a husband! But I'm sure you have already read that and know what I've said. Instead, I should probably title this blog just that . . . Dear Mom and Dad.
Coming out here has made me appreciate you more. I don't hate Pittsburgh (like some people think). Quite the contrary actually. It is just missing one thing: YOU! Home is where family is. And this week in scripture study I learned that family is and never will be perfect so it is about enjoying the journey, not becoming the ideal. Thanks, that talk was perfect and is what I studying all week. Maybe that is why I enjoy "Seriously So Blessed" so much.
I'm so excited to come home.
Dear Mom and Dad Gneiting,
This week I have appreciated you a little more too! And I'm not husband bashing . . . it is a compliment to the way you raised your son. There are things you just AREN'T born with, that you have to teach your kids. Here are the characteristics you taught your son that makes my marriage just that much easier:
-to always take the higher road
-cheaper is always better - :)
-anything can be fixed
-patience develops into consistency
-a laugh cures EVERYTHING
-when you think the job is done, work a little longer
-cleanliness isn't a chore, it is a necessity
I'm so excited to come to your home too!
THE END
Updating: I have been loving the "G-arden!" The list of what has failed is way longer than the list that has succeeded . . . or shall I say survived.
It takes one year of completely wrong proportions to know exactly how many of what to plant for you family. The only thing I planted correctly was the lettuce! And sadly I am more proud of the one raspberry we produced than anything in the above picture!
I don't feel like there has been a whole lot of firsts lately to post about. Just normal everyday life with a few fun activities here and there. But rain or shine, the best is yet to come! I'm so excited for our vacations coming up! I may or may not already have my packing lists!
Finished these bad boys:
Here are B's 1 yr shots:
Kelly did an amazing job, once again! The last one was a Walter joke. You ask the child how big they are and they raise their hands and say "SO BIG!" Which one is your favorite?

The child has got moves :) haha that was so funny, she has the head banging thing down! Loved your post, loved the video! We are excited for you to come too! CANT WAIT! and don't worry we may or may not have already started making a list of things we will do when you get here!
Her one-year photos did turn out great!! I love them! (Note to self to ask Kelly!) And even though it's sad for you to not be in Idaho, we are all sure glad you're in Pittsburgh!!! Remind me to consult with you about proportions when gardening next year! I'm so impressed that you attempted and succeeded at broccoli and lettuce! It makes me want to try them next year!
Oh, when are you coming out?? I am really sad but I think we're going to miss each other... let me know.
