Here is a little information about Waco and what has been happening here. This is what we love about where we live so far and I'm bragging for a little bit! So don't think this is the whole story. We have had some hardships already but I'm determined to stay positive about everything. We get gorgeous sun sets every night with about 70 degree weather.
Grocery shopping isn't stressful here, the prices of groceries and gas is almost cut in half of what we are use to. We found a cute farmer's market downtown on Saturdays.
The was the biggest suspension bridge in the world at the time it was built. It was built by a private contractor to herd steer over!
I'm totally doing this. 20$ pilates class on surf boards!
The city is on a river, run offs and a major lake.
I have been so impressed with Hillcrest. They were so prepared for Devin to come. They have hired different consultants to make the transition smooth for them and us. Devin got to meet some in Boston when we went to the sedation conference. The office is very professional and organized. Devin comes home with manual after manual from different hygenist consultants, assisant consultants, business consultants and office protocol. The information he has learned in the last few weeks is amazing. They are installing his operatories today and mounting his computer screens in his office. And who would have thought there was such thing as quality srubs that needs ironed and never dried? They have everything color coded and organized from who wears what scrub to who takes lunch when. We have felt so welcomed. And after going out to eat with Dr Thrasher and his wife I feel so at ease and reassured about our decision to move here. Don't get me wrong, there will be a learning curve and we can already see some bumps in the road but once again I feel humbled at our opportunities here. We are expecting and impatiently waiting for his license in the next few days. Who knew life gets stressful when you don't have loan money coming in and the dreaded day of loan re-payment is in the near future!
We are so excited about this. PS I didn't take the areal view pictures! This is the proposed stadium they have started for Baylor. It will add a ton of biking paths and a lot of fun events for the weekends.
This is a view of Lake Waco. It's pretty big.
And a picture of Baylor campus. It's a baptist private campus and it is very clean and well kept. Baylor has a children's museum that is really really good. It would take all day to go through the whole thing.
Again that suspension bridge we biked to. This bridge is right next to Cameron Park which is a 400 acre park in the middle of the city. It's pretty hilly with only mountain biking trails but there is a splash park and multiple parks throughout it.
And that's Wacky Waco for the grandparents dying to see!

Do you love Texas?! We so loved living in San Antonio! Waco looks a lot like S.A...with how green it is. The people there are so sweet and friendly too!
I'm glad you are liking it. We are now in Oklahoma City and I think it's only 4 hrs away so we'll have to plan on meeting half way someone and spend the day together. I bet it's different than PA but it looks like a good city. Go Dev! I bet you're glad that step is finished.
Hey! I'm working with Devin! Same spelling and everything! Haha. After your description, I do want to go to Waco! Sounds great! We sure are going to miss living near you!
It looks beautiful. Sounds like you're adjusting well to everything. I was just posting about some of our last Pittsburgh activities and was thinking about you and missed you. It's awesome they already have his name up at the office and everything. Maybe it's just because we're stocking up on food, but unfortunately the prices in food aren't quite as low as I was hoping for, but I haven't been to the farmer's markets either. I'll call you soon.
