Shaw Reunion Bear Lake

It was quite the decision to drive or fly to UT.  Finally Devin agreed to drive with me and we drove almost 50 hours there and back.  We stopped in Moab on our way there and rented a razor.  It was a flatter trail than the last jeep excursion but it was really fun!  The kids had a ball.  It brought back so many fun memories on our razor in Alamogordo.  On our way back we had to stop and go through the McDonalds drive threw in the razor!  We stayed the night and then drove to Grandma Shaw's house.  Every time I'm with her it means the world to me.  I have loved our relationship that we have now and it kills me that I missed out on it over the years.  She was so sweet and as usual the best host making dinner that she couldn't eat, giving the kids dollar store money while they made a mess of her clean house.  And like usual she waited till we drove away waving in her door way with tears.  Then we drove up to SLC to stay downtown with Julie and Jim.  They drove all the way down just to see us for a day.  It was so fun to go through the conference center, museum and temple grounds.  Teddy was by Grandpa Jim's side the whole time (or shoulders) and we had a great time.  Then we drove up to Bear Lake.

I wish we would have taken more pictures up there.  It was fun to just sleep in after a late night of talking and playing.  We went to the near by caves, bike to get raspberry shakes, lots of games and of course sea shells at the beach.  The water was freezing but the weather was gorgeous.  We asked Jenny Garlock to babysit while the adults went through the temple with Caleb for his first time.  It was really sweet and brought back good memories about my first time.

We had family pictures and the theme was favorite things.  The kids had a gift exchange and the adults had a gift exchange.  On the last night Mom and Dad babysat while we went to the local Playmill.  It was hilarious show that we were laughing through the whole time.  Then we left for home and went through Colorado Springs and stayed with Jamie and Bryan for a night.  This was all the first week of school but it was worth it!
