So it is October - meaning breast cancer awareness month. The Point giant fountain is usually dyed pink and on the Hot Metal bridge they hang up hundreds of donated bras from American Eagle. Maybe thousands. I was a little emotional - not crying but both of us were just in awe as we biked down the bridge (after our immature pictures of course). Then to top it off at the very end we saw the girl in front of us wipe her eyes and pull out a one cupped bra and hang it up on the bridge. I will always have a soft spot for cancer survivors and I can't tell you the impression this made on me!
Pittsburgh in one week has gone from this lush green to beautiful orange and yellows!
Brynlee's favorite park: Schenley's dinosaur park:
I think the officials try to take this rope down and the freshman on campus keep replacing it with upgrades. This time they had a corded and chained top, braided down to the actual rope. It's getting safer!
Dev has been so patient with my nesting projects. He has even jumped on board and completely cleaned out and sprayed down the garage. We have been trying to clean out, organize and move extra things out of the way to sell the house while the weather is good.
Cori is the BEST party planner ever! She had our branch fall festival last week and there was a string quartet, scare crow stuffing, baby pumpkin decorating, chili and apple pie cook off and great great food for dinner!
Here are some pictures from Dev's softball tournament. The primary presidency brought a ton of toys, balls, bubbles and fun games for the kids.
The games were great. At one point I think we had 6 full teams of 9 playing eachother. It is so fun to see the other families in the stake that we have associated with through young mens and activities com. They are so fun and it helps me remember that even if they have 6 kids to our 1 - there will always be fun couples where ever we move to.
But the face painting was the ultimate hit. Lunch turned out great too. I'm afraid the bees thought so too!
We biked from Boston to the cemetery which is I think about 10 miles and I was done in! That might be the last time I bike. It was so gorgeous though and totally worth the side effects!
Our dear friend and my sister (thank you thank you) helped me get these pictures finished with a nice camera and photoshop! It was quite the process but I have big plans for them. I want to put the words of I love to see the temple (Brynlee asks for the song every night) around a few of these pictures. Brynlee is in my wedding dress. I'd like to put Dev's missionary tag with a book of mormon on baby teddy someday and put them up next to each other.
Now for the comic relief. After telling my mom and Dev they said I had write it down to remember. I was in a parking lot - ok I was in the taco bell parking lot. I was so hungry and was getting sick. I had just taken a delicious bite with my windows rolled down and just wanted to cry we I could feel the sickness slowly leave and my stomach become satisfied and the sun beat on my face. All the sudden a bee come flying in my car and I started swatting it away from my coveted food and Brynlee. It was getting up in my face and I started getting more and more mad. Finally I slammed down my food and got out of the car (which 9 months pregnant looks funny in and of itself). I was swatting the stupid bee as it landed on my a few times. I think I circled the car twice looking like a complete fool. The whole time Brynlee is looking at me saying, "Mom, you ok?" "Mom just fine?"every time I circled the car! Finally I decided the only way to ditch the bee was to run faster! So I beat the bee to my driver seat and rolled up the window. Right before the window shut guess who flew into the car. The process started again of Brynlee questioning my sanity as I ran frantically around our car. I was so MAD that once again I was close to tears - not crying (yet). Anyways I won and finally after the second round had all the windows rolled up with no bee in the car! So I'm sitting there so ornery and I start looking around. Yes, everyone in Taco bell was looking our direction laughing and multiple people in cars were laughing too. I was humiliated! Anyways I tried to hurry and finish the food and get out of there but right then that new cancer country song came on the radio and I started bawling! It was the version when you hear all the personal accounts during the words of the song and I was sobbing! Haha, so finally I realized that our current situation could only get better and that I JUST NEEDED TO LEAVE THAT PARKING LOT! Anyways I really could count on one hand the times I've cried in this pregnancy but that was definitely the most comical time! I think my hormones won that war!
