Field Trips

We finally went to the Dr. Pepper Museum downtown.  The kids are standing in old Waco.  It used to be the most visited and populated town in Texas.

Brynlee was trying really hard to copy our poses on the Dr. Pepper wall!
These amazing cars are quite the thing around here.  I forgot what the girls call them but I can't help but laugh every time I see one!
The Waco zoo is just as good as Pittsburgh's.  I really lucked out cause it is half the cost too.  This is Brynlee's friend Celah (daughter of hygienist Katie at Devin's office).  Holding hands lasted about .5 seconds before they were over that!

They have a slide through the otter's tank, a splash park and a playground.  I rarely get through the whole zoo before meltdowns happen around nap time.
And Brynlee can't stand having me do her head band.  It usually ends up flapper girl style within an hour or so.

I love the southern rainstorms.  Brynlee twirling and singing in the rain.
This little guy has been pretty sick.  2 ear infections and congested for the last 3 months.  He is just about to pop some top teeth through.  Why don't I remember how horrible teething was with Brynlee?  My calling in our church has been keeping me pretty busy lately.  I'm excited to get our October's activity over.  I think things will be a little less stressful!  And then the holidays start and my brother comes home from Paraguay!  Oh it's going to be a great couple of months!  I can't wait.
Some updates for the kids:  Brynlee is starting to fall out of that horrible phase.  I'm figuring out her new sleeping and eating schedules and she is so much happier the last week or so.  Callen can clap, give high fives, wave bye, say dad, and acknowledge "all done" in signing.  Still not walking.  Devin is threatening to get a dog and has started hunting a little with some guys here.  His job is getting better and better.  I've had a hard time adjusting to the fact that this is permanent and we aren't living by family but I'm finding that I love love love Waco more and more.

I'm so glad to hear you love it. What cute kids you have!! Also glad to hear Brynlee's doing well? Would love to hear more about what you're doing there. Love the pictures. We miss you like crazy. If you guys wanted to camp up here somewhere that week in October, we could do that... Brent won't get back till later in the night. Sad that we can't before that. Maybe we should just watch conference together. ha.
