The hunt to discover a new city is something I love! We decided to go camping. A... cause it was a good excuse to hang out with 2 families we love and B... cause we have really really missed it this summer. I wasn't stupid enough to think I could do this without checking the weather. The night before the weather said 91 as the high plus himidity. That was 10+ degrees colder than what we have been having and I have camped in the 90s many times. No big deal. Well we got up there and I will admit I had a break down. Our friends texted us before they drove up to meet us. Her phone said 108 plus humidity! Anyways Dev (unlike me) can think when he is hot, cold, tired or hungry. So he went to the store got a giant fan and squirt guns and we were fine after that. It really wasn't that bad if you were wet. Chalk it up for a good memory over all. The fan was such a blessing cause it was white noise at night too for the kids and for my sudden fear of animals at night! We had a blast and nothing beats smores, tin foiled dinners, omlets, banana boats and soelberg salsa! Oh I love camping food-I just need a dutch oven! We just might wait a month till it gets a little colder though to camp! I'd still take 2 months of hot weather over 6 months of cold in a heart beat!
Brynlee being a goof ball.
I couldn't complain too long cause we had a beach site with an amazing view!
This sweet girl is Brynlee's new best friend! She lives a few doors down and they are nursery buddies. She let Brynlee pour water over her head ("doing her hair") for hours. I wanted to come back for Sunday cause I got a new calling - Rel Soc counselor. Those who know me, know that this is so exciting for me. I'm finally not in primary or nursery for the first time in my married life! YEAH! Dev was called to Young Men's President a few weeks ago so we are going to be busy. We have loved our ward. There are a lot of young couples and students in our ward from Baylor. It's about 200 people. There is always a new family moving in every week. I think it's the start of the school year so the new faces might calm down. But it sure is exciting. It is hard trying to find permanent friends here.
Monday we went to an amish like community. They weren't amish but prided themselves in self reliance. I learned a ton and it once again made me miss a garden.
My favorite store was the pottery. You could buy the most amazing pottery and watch them make it in the store. They were good!
Brynlee's favorite was the hay ride and the fabric store. She helped with the loom for a long time with this sweet girl!
I thought this magazine was hilarious at the grocery store HEB. They also didn't have a single idaho potato in the store - they were all texas potatoes!
Callen has been in heaven riding up with Brynlee in HEB's double stroller. He is always so happy and teases Brynlee. Once he was slapping her in the face about 30 times till Brynlee said something. They both put up with each other pretty well! The honeymoon phase of TX is wearing off. Devin is starting to work long hours. He is learning so much and I'm still so glad we are here.

I love the Texas kids in boots. Awesome. And only and Idaho'an would notice where the potatos were from. I never even thought about it once until I met you!
PS I bought Oreo's at the grocery store yesterday...I can't every buy/or eat them without thinking of you!
LOVE the magazine! Too funny. Camping looks like it was fun! Definitely have to try that again in October or something. And that Amish Fest looked super fun! Wish we could have come with you! Next time... I'm a little jealous of your ward. It sounds even more awesome than it seemed when we were there! Miss you!
