Brynlee is old enough to choose her costume. So she loves Rapunzel and I tried to coordinate accordingly. Until she decided I needed to be the wicked witch cause Dad had to be the prince in her story. So I'm keeping my costume cause I have a feeling we will be a princess movie for years and my character will stay the same! We had a blast at our Ward's trunk or treat eating pizza and playing games. The youth was in charge so Dev had the priests plan donuts off a string with a small Mavala twist!!! We picked out pumpkins at Walmart this year (couldn't find a pumpkin patch) and carved them for FHE the monday before with Wileema and a spooky dinner. We finally got smart and only did one pumpkin! Dev's office won a contest with their Baylor pumpkin they carved. We then went trick or treating to the Thrashers' house and then to a popular neighborhood. It wasn't as good as Pittsburgh trick or treating but there was one house that was neat. It was a local preacher with a blow up big trampoline and tons of games put on by the youth of the church. Brynlee would knock until they answered and was very independent unless they had anything scary in the yard!
Next up was Callen's birthday! It was pretty low key: no party or cake. He got some awesome presents from family and friends. He is so cute! I love having a little man. He popped those 3 teeth through and is working on 2 more. He sleeps and eats well. Is a little fussier than Brynlee but he doesn't have my full attention like Brynlee did. It is so easy to baby the second one more! Anyone else have a problem with that?We visited Brittany and Brent (cousins) a few hours away for the weekend because Callen and Jason have the same birthday! Brittany had the cutest superman party that we got to participate in. Brynlee thinks superman is pretty cool now! And as usual these two are just 2 peas in a pod. This was the only picture of them that I got cause they never hold still!
I have loved, loved, loved this ward. I think I was ready to move on from the branch phase of our life (although we miss the people there). I've been serving in the perfect calling for me (I'm not the best at it)- enrichment counselor. This calling is so fun when you have a good committee like I do who helps out a ton!
This little smiley goober finally graduated from an infant car seat. We figured we would transition before the knees were hanging over this time. It was more of mid calf for him. It is so hard for me cause my kids have always slept at least an hour in church in car seats and now he is a disaster in church. But man is he happy in the car. He keeps yelling "HI!" during the rides!
Brynlee is growing up so much. I was talking to a mom the other day and she told me that toddlers start to phase out of the "I want to pinch your cute bum" to "I just want to sit and talk with you." I am starting to understand that phase although she still proves to be a tantrum-throwing child sometimes. She can express her opinions and come up with multiple solutions to problems, etc. Brynlee asked me to come in and help her decide what to wear .... she had everything laid out to choose.
She can almost do her own hair! It usually ends up like this. The sides and front look so good but the back struggles a little!
We keep finding fun things to do here. This was the family tailgating part of the Baylor game. What a fun idea! They had family oriented games and prizes and give-aways. Teddy was in heaven in the blow up trampoline. And I could barely get a photo of Brynlee on these things. We're going to the game tonight - I'm pretty excited. I went to the twilight movie last night with 2 cute girls and the night before that a "These are my favorite things" party. It is fun to just get to know everyone and not ever feel the need or time to throw a party. I've learned so much from these amazing women! It is a fun town and bunch of people. It is missing a few things - there is hardly any basketball or volleyball and we excepted more taco wagons and bike trails. But it is still amazing weather. We are in jackets in 60 degree weather. We are such sissies now! Life is starting to pick up for the holidays and we are excited for some change, some travels and some traditions to come!
