Finding our niche!

post signatureI feel like no one posts or looks at blogs anymore but I think I've invested enough time into this journal I want to continue doing it!  I'm sure it will be extremely out of style in 5 years and it will embarress my kids that I still do it!  I want to make my posts more of a personal history instead of a personal journal.  So Devin is loving his job.  We both knew he would.  He is very busy all day - barely having time for lunch and comes home tired and feeling successfull.  The best part is working with Joseph.  He is a pretty great guy!  The best part about coming here is that people.  We were really surprized to find so many great and fun families/people to handout with.  Let alone having the Westovers here.  We have done quite a few things together (dinner play dates, date night, daily phone calls with directions and people, etc) but it is so nice to have someone I can call when I'm lost :)  I love our ward.  Love is an understatement.  We both talked in church Sunday.  I went way over my time limit but it feels good to have it done.  We have spoken 5 timest his last year in Sacrament meetings.  Devin got a calling and will learn some great lessons serving as Exc Sec.  But we are kind of expecting the bishop to get released here in the next few weeks.  (It's been 5 years)
Brynlee has been great moving.  There are 10 sunbeams in her class and she will have her 2 friends in her preschool class in aug.  She has really shot up the last few months and her hair is really getting long.  She still has just as much curl in it if I shampoo and condition it instead of just johnson's soap.  She is very inquisitive still.  And the more I stay on top of teaching her the devotionals and joyschool lessons, the better her temperament is.  She has the longest eye lashes that I adore!  She is such a great help.  I have been rewarding her with a chore chart lately and have realized how much she really does help me.  We still have problems with bed time sometimes.  But she is loving primary.  She still says the funniest things.  The other day she told me that she needed a drink of water cause her breathe sounds bad!
Teddy has changed the most.  He is so big and the proof is in his constantly tight and short clothes.  He just popped through his 8th tooth - hallelujah!  It has taken him forever and I sadly a few undiagnosed ear infections.  He can be a bum sometimes.  He is very vocal.  I think it is because I'm not disciplining him like I did Brynlee.  I also haven't been as strict with night schedules cause he has always been sick from teething.  But I really need to crack down and get strict with him.  Nursery is in 2 months which will help church a lot.  He is great at throwing his head back on whatever surface is available - hard or soft.  But he is learning new things everyday.  He said toys the other day.  He is now signing please which just melts my heart when either child has learned that.  He is more of a mamma's boy and Brynlee usually sticks with dad.  He loves to wrestle with dad and his happiness can change the mood of the whole house it is so bubbly and contagious!
The first 2 weeks weeks I feel like I was still unpacking, finding things, organizing and getting a feel for things.  Now I feel like I don't have a purpose and have so much time.  I'm excited for a calling.  And the girls have volleyball night every Thurs, book club, play groups weekly and get together a lot but I'm still so bored at home.  So I registered Brynlee for preschool and gymnastics and swim lessons starting in Aug.  I finally figured out that our apt is so small that I don't want to do any projects, plus the only craft store here is Walmart.  I've never saved up so much budget money!  Our rental is really perfect for us right now and we are going to love the huge pool in the summer but I'm kind of excited to find some room.  We have downsized twice since pittsburgh and I've noticed that I spend so much more time daily trying to make this place as clutter free as  Pittsburgh.  I still really enjoy cooking and menu planning so that is still fun and the new challenge is that we downsized our budgets too.  I've been thinking about starting piano lessons pretty soon.  I just want to get my calling and start Brynlee's school to figure out how many lessons I can handle.  We have some fun adventures planned coming up and I"m excited for the summer.  Here is a few pictures of what we have been doing lately.  Date night to one amazing BBQ place:

We have had some fun at home lessons including our new Gunny Bag.
Brynlee was in heaven at a friend's house with all their new toys and dress up clothes.
We had lunch with Dad!  It is Brynlee's favorite past time!

Volleyball night.  We were talking about and sad we missed a Pittsburgh girls trip so we took a picture to give them and say we missed them and hope they were having a blast!  Volleyball night is like my ice cream at midnight!  But I'm not blowing up this beautiful pic of us.
We went to the white sand dunes and had hot dogs and went sledding in 60 degree weather in Feb!  Loved it!

Don (owner of practice) comes down from ID.  We went swimming in the hotel pool before dinner!
We went to playgroup with our bikes at the church!  Brynlee ended up on the princess bike with a pink helmet and front wheel backwards - of course!
Carpet under the high chair is killing me.  Callen is so messy!
We went on our 3 mile walk up the mountain.  Great weather and company.
We were invited to a couples Valentines party.  The games were pretty fun and we were laughing pretty hard.  It was fun to get to know the other couples.

blogging better not be going out of style! I love it! I love reading blogs and keeping up on my own blog. It is my best attempt at journaling, so I will be doing it for a long long while I think!
