Getting used to our new location

So while dad was gone on another weekend CE course we woke up early to watch the fly over that never happened.  But we did check out the gus macker tournament and had a blast together.  We missed daddy but had fun riding the carousel  eating corn dogs and watching the basketball.  It killed Dev he missed it but he did get home in time for our visitors to arrive.  Ani (Devin's sister), Daniel, Naomi and Camilla came and stayed a while.  It was so fun to see them on their way to Cali.

We took the Browns to White sands for about 15 mins until a big sand storm came.  Then I almost burnt down our rental when I forgot about some chick peas I was boiling.  There was a wall of smoke when we opened the door and the fire alarm finally went off when we opened the door.  You honestly couldn't see 10 feet in front of you!!!  I made all their suitcases, carpets, everything smell like smoke for weeks.  And got a cute little reminder of my stupidity every time the AC comes on!!! But the funny part is that Dev put the hot pan on one of my nice kitchen rags and burned some good holes in it!

We celebrated our one year graduation anniversary with the Westovers at Nuckleweed.  It is this very nice and expensive restaurant in a double wide trailer   It is quite the experience but has the most amazing food!!!!

We are thoroughly enjoying our pool.  We try to run over after Dev's work and sometimes Brynlee and I go when Teddy has his 3 hour nap!  It makes the rental worth it.
Here are some of Brynlee's quotes since last time I blogged them:
"Mom is it fast Sunday or slow Sunday today?" "This is my sleeping beauty smile."

"Mom, I want to have lots of ohwies on my face just like you."

"Mom, am I so pretty I make your eyes bleed?" I guess I had blood shot eyes at 5:30 am this morning.

Me:"Brynlee, tell Nana about all of our Easter lessons this week." Brynlee:"Well I think Jesus died or something."

Brynlee: "Mom, you need to go to volleyball so we don't have to talk to you anymore."

Every time Brynlee is in the car and sees a B, she comments in distress about how they can't spell her name right. Sometimes she is annoyed or says it matter of factly, but she honestly thinks everyone in the world is trying to spell her name!

Me: "I'm so dissapointed." - talking about no volleyball tonight
Brynlee: "It's ok mom. Let me tickle your back. We can still play together?"

Brynlee: "Mom, it goes Thanksgiving, Christmas and then camping!"

I went in to check on Brynlee trying to take a nap and right when she saw me she pointed her finger at me and said: "Mom stop messin' around in the kitchen and go to bed."
Me: "But I'm almost done putting the groceries away."
Brynlee: "Well you are the sweetest mom for finishing up your chores. Just do your best." I honestly feel like my 2 yr old validates the majority of my efforts.

Brynlee: "Mom stop singing. (I feel very small) Me: "Why do you want me to stop singing?" (This isn't the first time she has asked me) Brynlee: "Its scares me." Nice.

She told me that this is her sleeping beauty smile!
We went with some friends to go fishing in Ruidoso which is like the resort forest town next to Alamogordo.  It was so fun and slightly ridiculous how stocked the pond was!  Still fun to catch something everytime you casted!  Brynlee caught her first fish!

And this cute little buggar is a vinegar-roo or something.  The scorpions  cockroaches, and snakes are a killer here.  This guy looks like a lobster and easts scorpions   He is harmless and a good guy however ugly he appears.
