Miscellaneous Mayhem

Callen is growing so fast.  He isn't a baby and I'm trying not to treat him like one.  He sits at the high table and eats with a spoon all of the big food we eat.  No more bottles.  He can understand everything I say and follow multi-step instructions.  He is still about 50% in height and weight which worries me but I think he just got my skinny jeans.  He is very boy.  He loves cars and go right to them in anyone's yard.  This whole rental and boxes thing after a year is getting old and I"m just sad for my kids who don't have a yard to play in.  Callen is a momma's boy.  He is always yelling, "mom, (waiting for a reply) alkdnfoaigusldkfndlksflsif" and will talk my ear off and then repeats this 5 times.  He yells dee dee every time he sees a big tracker in the car and yells tructs when ever he sees a dump truck.  He is just beside himself when he sees or hears a choo choo train.  He is still my baby till I have another child I think but he graduated and went to nursery.  He walked right in and hasn't had a problem.  I tried to tell him he can't go in and watching the kids play killed him so he was excited to go in.  He is shy to other people and unless he recognizes you he usually doesn't go willing but is great with our babysitter and friends.  He plays well with Brynlee and eats pretty well although his sleeping habits are horrible. He wakes up in the night with nightmares.  He will scream and whale and I can't wake him up.  Then after like 10 mins he will just wake up and instantly stop and hug me then go to sleep in seconds.  It's weird.  So I put him in his pack and play and it never happens?  Even weirder!!!  He sleeps perfectly so I think he is afraid of his crib or something.  I don't know what we are going to do.  But for now I'd rather my sleep and do the pack and play.

Brynlee has been a sweetheart.  She is in a really fun and easy (parenting wise) stage.  She helps out a ton from laundry to clearing and dishes, cooking, cleaning.  And she loves helping out.  She is very good at being obedient and saying yes mam is a big deal to Dev and I.  The problem is learning to express her feelings while still obeying.  She is so verbal.  If you just explain the why they she rarely cries about anything.  She is very dramatic and is a big personality full of hilarious comments every day and I know she is always going to keep me on my toes but she is so sweet.  I can't wait till she goes to preschool in august cause she needs a little stimulation without a yard and all her stuff in boxes.  But the best is how good she is with Teddy.  Always helping him clean up his mess before mom sees and getting him toys and giving up hers for him.  They have some good times.  She is a little more physical than Teddy and is always trying to hug him and he hates it.  She is still pretty big for her age and her curly hair is starting to straighten out.  It is so fun to do hair and nails with her for the weekend and having a girl cook with me in the kitchen.  She is a sweetheart.  I feel like they are both at easy ages and it is really fun to play with them and get a lot done in the day.  She is such a daddy's girl.  She always has to sit by dad when we eat - well really anytime.  She is very Gneiting while Teddy is very Shaw.  They still look like siblings though and she is great at eating, sleeping and learning.  I'm not worried at all about her.  We are going to start her in gymnastics and swimming lessons with preschool.  I'm pretty excited for her.  Although waking up and doing breakfast and lunches does not sound fun!

We went to a very fun birthday party and a fun Earth day celebration.  They had a bunch of fun food and fun and released hundred of butterflies.  Teddy went to nursery and Brynlee held his hand and picked out his outfit for him.  We have taken a few trips to the zoo here which is hilarious.  They have all animals you can find in the wild like ravens, foxes, deer, etc.  But a really good play ground and it is the oldest zoo in the Southwest!  It was fun to watch the transformation of the Westover home and help them move in.  We also took a road trip to Odessa and added a new vehicle to our family while selling Dev's silver car.  It had a lot of memories with us and was a little hard to sell and let go.  I miss that car!

The shoe picture is funny cause every time I ask her to clean up she put her and dad's shoes together and moms on the other side!  I have been having so much fun getting to know these fun girls and families here.  I also got a calling as the first counselor in the RS which is great cause it is the education leader and a little less time than the enrichment leader.  But I just want some permanent roots.  I want to know for sure we will be here for a set time and get a house and get out of boxes and rentals.  It is hard on me to always be ready to move and never have a plan.  The whole, "the only store is Walmart" is getting really old too.
And I get in trouble when I talk about Devin on this blog but just know that he absolutely loves his job and is doing really well.  I"m so happy for him and it is so good to see him come home so happy everyday.  There is still a lot of exploring to do here and it keeps it fun.  We like exploring and camping together and although there is no farming here, he still likes it and is always looking for the bigger and better in life.
